Position: Building Services Supervisor

The Building Services Supervisor provides direct supervision to the housekeeping/building services
crew for all facility cleaning, event-related and daily upkeep.

Supervises: PT Building Services Staff
Entity: Spectra Venue Management/Utah Valley Convention Center
Summary:
The Building Services Supervisor provides direct supervision to the housekeeping/building services
crew for all facility cleaning, event related and daily upkeep.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of (1) year experience in an operations position in housekeeping, building services or
related field; a degree in Facility Management or related field may allow for substitution for years of
experience
- Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and possess
superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have the ability to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills
Job Functions:
- Assume supervisory responsibility for all services and activities involved in the building services
department.
- Work with employees to correct deficiencies; assist in implement discipline procedures
- Responsible for maintenance and appearance of all convention center floors including terrazzo
floors, function and pre-function carpets, offices, bathrooms, and back of houses.
- Perform and oversee maintenance of all operations and building services equipment, and maintain
storage areas of equipment to keep equipment presentable.
- Completion of all assigned work orders.
- Inspection of all office areas, and creation of action lists to correct deficiencies. Follow-up with
staff to ensure correction of errors.
- Responsible for the safety and presentation of the exterior of the facility.
- Responsible for organization and presentation of all Building Services storage areas.
- Communicates between shifts the necessary tasks that still need to be completed
- Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, pipe and
drape, all tables, all chairs, etc.
- Coordinates between changeover crew and housekeeping needs with Operations Manager and/or
Supervisor
- Maintains departmental equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
